Texas Snow

WOW! Can you believe this?* This is definitely NOT a normal Texas winter. The snow started falling early Thursday morning and didn't stop until late Thursday night into early Friday morning (in some areas). The DFW area broke any standing record with this snowfall, according to the National Weather Service. Apparently, the record for about 45+ years was 12.2". However, with this winter storm, the DFW area's record is now 12.5". While some areas, such as north Ft. Worth (near Alliance airport), saw over 13", others saw less than 10". It was so BEAUTIFUL to watch and look at. I have to confess, however, that I didn't actually drive in it so, I'm sure that was not so fun. My husband says that our brother-in-law from Massachusetts would say 12.5" was "a good snow", while 4" is "a dusting". I'm sure they are laughing at us Southerners trying to make our way around down here, even though by now quite a bit of the white stuff is melted. :0) What a spectacular Winter Wonderland! Makes me want to move where there's actually seasons! But then again. . . .
*These images show the progression of the snow from the morning throughout the day and into the following morning. Look at the birds in the last image...this was the following morning.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
DPPA Roaring 20's Christmas Party

Every year, the DPPA (Dallas Professional Photographer's Association), has it's annual Christmas party. Usually at some awesome facility. This year was no exception (we had it at our new meeting location), but with a twist this year: a Roaring 20's theme (or you could attend in formal wear). What a wonderful idea! For those who participated in extravaganza, it was fun, and apparently hard for the judges to choose the best costume. Anyways, it was fun. Since my sweet husband was out of town working, I took on my my dear friends (a client) with me. She is also responsible for the hair and makeup. These pictures were taken before quickly heading off to dinner and the party. I can't wait to see what next year will be like! To see more of the costumes, check out: dallasppa.com.
